The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed in order to apply for any of the following Financial Aid programs. The FAFSA application, along with information from your 2021 tax return will determine your eligibility for Federal Grant money and Stafford Student and Parent PLUS loans.
FEDERAL PELL GRANT
The FAFSA application, along with information from your 2021 tax return (ending June 30th 2023 &/or your parents if you are a dependent student) will determine your eligibility for Federal Grant money and Direct Student and Parent Plus loans. The maximum award is $7,395.00 for the 2023/2024 award year. Additional household information may be required to fully establish eligibility.
DIRECT SUBSIDIZED LOAN
- Based on need, not credit history
- Amounts vary with qualifications
- Payments will be approximately $50.00 + interest
- Fixed interest rate – 5.5% (loans disbursed on or after 7/1/23 and before 7/1/24)
- Government pays interest while you’re in school
- Repayment begins 6 months after completing school
- Loans are in student’s name only
DIRECT UNSUBSIDIZED LOAN
- Based on need, not credit history
- Amounts vary with qualifications
- Payments will be approximately $50.00 + interest
- Fixed interest rate – 5.5% loans disbursed after 7/1/2023 and before 7/1/2024
- Government does not pay interest while you’re in school
- Repayment begins 6 months after completing school
- Loans are in student’s name only
PARENT PLUS LOAN
Enables parents with qualifying credit to borrow from the Government to help with education expenses for their dependent student. Loan amounts vary with qualification. Interest rate: loans first disbursed on or after 7/1/23 and before 7/1/24 – 8.05% interest. The PLUS loan enters repayment 30-60 days after the loan is fully disbursed. If the PLUS loan is denied, an increase in the Unsubsidized loan may be available to the dependent student.
If you feel you have special circumstances that need to be considered, please contact the Financial Aid office. You will be required to submit certain documentation to support your request. All decisions made by the Financial Aid office are final.
OTHER FINANCING OPTIONS
VA Benefits available to those who qualify
NO INTEREST MONTHLY payments. Balance remaining is divided by number of months in training. Payments are due the 15th of each month. Balance is due to the academy before diploma will be issued
PRIVATE LOAN from your financial establishment / 529 Plan eligible.
